Biography

Kelsey’s research interests focus on the cognitive mechanisms underlying social perception and their outcomes, including bias and prejudice. She uses experimental and non-experimental methods from social cognition, communication, and acoustics to investigate how identities, particularly sex and gender, are perceived through the voice, face, and body. Her work tests the impact of these perceptions on evaluations and behaviors, and ultimately aims to understand how to mitigate bias and foster collaboration among groups.
