Work Experience

Started freelance filmmaking immediately after graduating, and been working for myself ever since!

Why did you choose Comm Studies as your major?

I knew I was interested.

Favorite UCLA memory and/or professor

Getting involved with the UCLA Advertising & Marketing team was the best thing I ever did in college. I made friends that'll last a lifetime, learned and grew so much as a leader and creative, and all of my peers have gone on to do amazing things in all their respective industries. No seriously, people doing BIG things. And it also gave me to opportunity to get to know Jane Bitar, who is just the most amazing woman ever!

How has Comm Studies empowered you in your professional and personal life?

More than anything, the friendships I made with other Comm. Studies majors has been priceless. They're the most amazing, driven, and fun majors on the campus. The relationships you build with these amazing people will end up leading to wonderful opportunities once you're all unleashed upon the world.

What was the most valuable or applicable lesson you learned from a Comm Studies class?

Just off the top of my head, the lessons I learned from multiple Comm. classes on interpreting scientific results (i.e. correlation not equaling causation) have really stuck with me. Not a week goes by where I don't use what I learned in those lessons.

What advice would you give to a current Comm Studies student?

Follow what excites you. Whatever stokes a fire in your gut and gets your mouth watering, go in that direction. But take it one step at a time. Don't plan too far ahead. Your passions and interests will continue to change and evolve - make sure you tune in and pay attention to where they're going next.

Fun facts, interests, hobbies

I've been living as a digital nomad for the past few years, living in places like San Francisco, Berlin, New York, Colombia, and currently, Kauai. I try to work as little as possible and I can lick my elbow.
