Comm Studies Public Diplomacy students present at the White House!

2016 Peer 2 Peer: Challenging ExtremismUniversity students from around the world develop campaigns and social media strategies against violent extremism that are credible, authentic, and believable to their peers and resonate within their communities. In 2016, a group from Pakistan, Switzerland, and the United States presented their final projects at the U.S. Department of State.  Thanks to CS Professor Judy Milestone and Professor Barry Sanders for mentoring their CS 163 Public Diplomacy students:“It has been such an amazing opportunity and honor to have been invited by the U.S. Department of State to present our research on counter-terrorism in Washington D.C. this week. We were able to showcase the organization we created “Safe Spot” in front of experts from all over the globe, and discuss strategies with some of the greatest minds in the field. If you haven’t yet, get educated on violent extremism, what ISIS wants, and how we can counter their manipulative psychology.
