Work Experience

I have been lucky enough to call Prospect Park home since I interned there my last quarter at UCLA! Prior to landing there, I also interned at E! Entertainment and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. And of course I survived high school and college with the obligatory retail and restaurant jobs before that.

Why did you choose Comm Studies as your major?

Communication Studies covered everything I was interested in - people and media, and how one affects the other. I wasn't entirely sure what field I wanted to end up in when I started, so I loved the opportunity to dabble in a few different areas within the major.

Favorite UCLA memory and/or professor

Two things I miss a whole lot from my time at UCLA are my senior year apartment (shout out to The Horseshoe and anyone who has ever been lucky enough to take over that building with all your friends) and strangely enough, picking up a Daily Bruin to do the crossword puzzle. Oh! Dining halls, too!

How has Comm Studies empowered you in your professional and personal life?

The biggest piece of advice I give any college student is to take advantage of the networking opportunities on campus. I got my first internship by going to the Undergraduate Communication Association (UCA) Networking Night, which then led to my second, which then led to my third, which then turned into my job. I never thought I'd end up in any of those companies before putting myself out there and meeting new people.
