Why did you choose Comm Studies as your major?

Apart from the fact that the communication process has always deeply fascinated me, the reputation of the program and the quality of the student body were huge factors in my choice to become a Comm Studies major.

Favorite UCLA memory and/or professor

I remember taking a quarter of classes with Professors Groeling, Rosenthal, and Von Blum, and becoming fully immersed in communication politically, legally, artistically, and morally. It was an inspiring, challenging, and ethical three months that I will never forget.

How has Comm Studies empowered you in your professional and personal life?

The skills of critical and empathetic thinking that I learned in Communication Studies have forever shaped how I think through the tough problems in my personal and professional life.

What was the most valuable or applicable lesson you learned from a Comm Studies class?

More than anything else, Communication Studies taught me to listen intently and openly, with equal respect to everyone.

Fun facts, interests, hobbies

I learned to eat and love sushi thanks to one dedicated Comm Studies Professor!
